What Is in the Build? A Custom Truck Owner's Guide for Fontana
A custom truck can look finished while still needing calibration, wiring or suspension work. It can also be a well-sorted driver with years of careful improvements. When selling in Fontana, explain what the truck does today and how the work was completed. A buyer needs more than the brand names on a parts list.
Describe the system, not only the expensive parts
For an engine swap, identify the engine, transmission, control system and cooling changes when known. Tell us who installed them and whether there are supporting invoices. If the truck uses a donor chassis, list that separately from the body year. Avoid calling something a complete swap simply because the engine is mounted in place.
For suspension work, describe the setup in ordinary language: static drop, adjustable air suspension, raised suspension or another arrangement. Explain how the truck sits when parked and what happens if battery power is lost. A vehicle that needs its compressor running to clear the ground deserves a different pickup discussion from one at a fixed height.
Show the work that is difficult to see
Good exterior photographs establish the truck's appearance. Add views of the engine bay, cab, dashboard controls, bed and any accessible installation details. Photograph unfinished wiring, absent trim and damaged paint as well as completed areas. Useful pictures answer questions; they do not need dramatic lighting.
If you have photos taken during construction, keep them in date order and identify which truck they show. Receipts should explain the part or service, not just display a large total. Remove unrelated personal information from copies used during initial discussions, while preserving original records for appropriate private review.
Be precise about road use and remaining jobs
Give the approximate distance driven since major work and the last time the truck was used reliably. Describe recurring symptoms directly: temperature rises in traffic, battery loses charge in storage or transmission engagement is delayed. Do not turn an unexplained symptom into a confident diagnosis just to simplify the listing.
Write down the remaining jobs, including cosmetic items that are easy to overlook. Door seals, mirrors, window operation and gauge accuracy can matter to someone evaluating a finished build. If you are uncertain about paperwork or equipment requirements for modifications, resolve those with the appropriate official sources before representing the truck as fully compliant.
Arrange pickup around the truck you built
Fontana, Bloomington, Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga are within our California service area. Share the actual storage location, vehicle dimensions and clearance at the driveway entrance. Mention a workshop's access hours and identify who can release the vehicle and loose parts.
Street Kingz Classic considers custom classic trucks in finished and unfinished condition. Text photos and a build summary to 951-822-6298 or email info@spartanexporters.com. We buy as-is and arrange pickup; cash payment is made after inspection, agreement and ownership verification. Make sure the offer identifies the spare parts, controllers and other equipment that will leave with the truck.
